Frequently asked questions
Common Questions
Which solar system is right for my home?
It depends on your electricity use, your roof and how much backup you need. A grid-connected system suits homes with a dependable supply; a hybrid system adds batteries so chosen loads keep running during a power cut. We recommend a system after reviewing your bills and the roof.
Can I add batteries?
Yes, batteries can be part of the system from the start or planned for later. Whether a particular inverter can take batteries depends on its model, so tell us if you may want backup in the future and we will choose the equipment with that in mind.
What happens during a site assessment?
An engineer visits your home to check the roof (type, area, direction and shading), the electrical connection and the loads you want to run, and looks at your recent electricity bills. After the visit we design the system and send you an itemised quotation.
Do solar systems need maintenance?
Solar systems need little attention, but the panels should be kept clean because dust reduces output, and the system should be inspected from time to time. We offer inspection, maintenance and repair after installation.
