Built for large data centres and demanding processes
The Galaxy 6000 is a dedicated system for large data centres and for ultra-sensitive, high-power processes. Most data centres start with a few hundred kVA and grow to several MVA as they fill; the Galaxy 6000 can be paralleled in several ways so that the power is increased without losing continuity and when it is needed.
- Static transfer switches let one UPS feed two or three separate circuits for dual and triple input equipment.
- Paralleled units give source redundancy, and the range supports the redundant architectures required for Tier III and Tier IV designs.
- Compact, high-efficiency design with input harmonic reduction and an improved power factor suits green data centre design.
Operation under all conditions
Industrial sites are harsh on equipment: dust, damp, vibration and large temperature variations. The Galaxy 6000 is designed to be robust, mechanically and electrically, with a strong reinforced enclosure, high ingress protection, dust filters, a high overload capability and a stable output voltage during load transients.
Batteries that are always ready
DigiBat uses the operating power level, the temperature, the age and the type of the battery to adjust the charging voltage, and continuously calculates the real backup time available and the remaining battery life. It tests the battery system automatically, without affecting its capacity, and raises an alarm when the batteries are low. The optional B2000 and Cellwatch systems monitor each battery block around the clock.
Lower total cost of ownership
- 95% efficiency even at 50% load reduces energy cost and the size of cooling and ventilation.
- Input harmonic filters reduce the size of circuit protection devices and supply cables, and can save up to 20% on the sizing of the electrical infrastructure.
- Commissioning, maintenance contracts, teleservice monitoring, upgrades and battery-function upgrades are available from the manufacturer's service organisation.
