Batala Steel Mills 2MW Solar Power Project
1 / 4
Project overview
Batala Steel Mills runs energy-intensive rolling and melting operations around the clock, and rising grid tariffs were putting steady pressure on production costs. Atiq Traders was brought in to design and install a rooftop solar plant that could offset a significant share of daytime consumption without disrupting the mill’s continuous operating schedule.
The result is a 2MW on-grid solar power plant spanning the factory’s main rooftop, engineered to work alongside existing grid and generator supply, giving the mill cleaner, cheaper power exactly when its furnaces and machinery need it most.
The challenge
- High daytime industrial load with limited rooftop structural capacity for panel weight
- Zero tolerance for downtime during installation on an active production site
- Rising grid tariffs eating into manufacturing margins
Our solution
Our engineering team ran a full structural load assessment before finalizing a mounting design that distributed panel weight safely across the existing steel roof trusses. Installation was phased across sections of the roof so that production lines below were never taken offline.
- 4,200+ high-efficiency mono-PERC panels on a custom galvanized mounting structure
- Grid-tied inverter setup sized to match the mill’s daytime load curve
- Remote monitoring dashboard for real-time generation and fault tracking
- Phased, zero-downtime installation completed in 45 days

Client Testimonial
“The team surveyed the site before quoting and explained each part of the design in plain language. The installation was tidy, and they were easy to reach when we had questions afterwards.”
